We embed sustainability principles in every design. Job Description The Minneapolis Minnesota office has an opening for a Structural Engineer IV. We are renowned for innovation, high quality work, attentive client service, and a collegial office culture. Our engineering projects are varied and challenging. We are seeking a respected professional with extensive experience on large-scale projects to help develop business, lead related structural projects, and have a positive impact on the office s strategic direction. Responsibilities: Use computer software as a tool for solving complex structural engineering problems Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments in the structural engineering field Contribute innovations, new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems Maintain knowledge of codes and technologies appropriate to the structural engineering discipline Recognize discrepancies in processes and results Determine the technical approach and design criteria for significant projects. Take necessary actions to ensure the project proceeds on schedule and within budget limitations Ensure conformance with standards, established engineering practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction Conduct independent investigations, studies, and complicated engineering analysis Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations concerning the project Maintain liaison with individuals and units within or outside the organization with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the structural engineering field Review and respond to shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs) Implement and follow AECOM Quality Assurance Program procedures Participate in meetings with contractors to resolve conflicts during construction Perform site inspection on complicated issues to verify conformance with Construction Documents and prepare inspection reports Requirements: 10 to 15 years experience, including project design, project management, business development, and strong interpersonal skills. A record of successfully leading large, complex structural projects. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of clients and customers. Active in local/regional or national professional/technical bodies. Strong analytical, management, and supervisory skills are a must. Licensed P.E. required, S.E. licensure preferred.
