Minimum of three years experience in training and must have knowledge of adult learning styles. Experience in developing course and program curriculums required. Certification as a Red Cross Blood Services instructor. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work effectively on both an independent and team member basis. Must be detail oriented and be able to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of computers, training software, database and training equipment required. May be required to travel to sites throughout the region and on overnights. Job Description: Job Summary: Coordinates and markets external education services. Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates external training activities. Operates under the direction of the Medical Director. Major Responsibilities: Manages medical library resources and teaches core courses for new staff. Acts as a resource to staff on training issues. Develop and conduct needs assessment and develops and implements training programs for external customer service request. Develop external education plan based on business plan and customer surveys. Markets education services to external customers. Coordinates external education activities, including regional hospital meetings, daily contact with hospital customers and the general public to provide blood banking information. Develops program curriculums. Teaches in-house core courses to new staff as assigned. Coordinates MT student and resident orientation. Maintains individual records of all external training. May conduct and coordinate tours of the facility to the customers and/or general public. Collaborates with Account Managers in establishing regional hospital meetings and other external education activities. Communicates with a wide variety of audiences and uses a variety of training methods to promote learning. Perform other related duties as necessary.
