Job Summary
Lead activities and personnel responsible for global payroll governance and projects. Role includes project leadership responsibilities, as well as supervisory responsibility for the payroll analysts/specialists.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include: 1) Supervision of a team of payroll analysts/specialists responsible for resolving payroll process issues and pro-actively driving process improvements. 2) Leadership, or oversight, of key payroll projects (example: Time Reporting system deployment).
3) Establish/improve global governance model to help ensure strong controls and process effectiveness for payroll globally 4) Key role in helping to implement/transition to SAP payroll.
This role will provide direct supervision to assigned employees through leadership, coaching, training and development, allocating work assignments, review of progress in achieving objectives, managing employee compensation, performance appraisals, diversity, disability, all relevant employee data, etc. In addition, will have interaction with other key stakeholders in the U.S. (such as IT) and with other HR/Payroll professionals outside of the U.S. May manage vendors and contracts.
Consult and advise on policy and procedural questions, investigate and solve unique and complicated problem situations. Assist in the resolution of customer needs and concerns. Work closely with other functional areas in the design phase of new programs or enhanced HR policies and/or procedures as it relates to implementation and administration of these changes. Communicate and educate changed enhancements to work-team.
Lead key payroll projects, as assigned, such as a standardized system deployment for time reporting. Spearhead the global payroll governance process to help ensure strong controls and process effectiveness for payroll globally. Analyze and re-engineer work processes to gain efficiencies through system enhancements, system designs and work flow process including best practices within the industry. Initiates actions to lead projects with specific results expected, and occasionally broadly defined results. Ensures project objectives and deadlines are met. Presents project recommendations to appropriate personnel that demonstrate sound planning in support of business needs and goals.
Continual development of skills and knowledge in the payroll industry, as well as people skills. Develop professional relationship that enhance and create increased value to self and organization.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Skills / Requirements
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or higher
5+ years of professional payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of professional payroll experience
Certified Payroll Professional
1+ year of experience in Global Payroll knowledge
1+ year of experience with SAP ABAP module
3+ years of experience with PeopleSoft
5+ years of combined experience with project management and/or project leadership
5+ years of experience with payroll systems
1+ year of experience leading a cross-functional team
