*This position is working at GE Water, which specializes in producing water filters. This position s purpose is to assist the membrane element manufacturing operation in improving element quality. The position is expected to support production by doing final QC inspection of elements, segmenting and disposition non-conforming elements, defining root cause for poor quality, driving ideas for eliminating and preventing defects and uploading final inspection data into a database repository. This position will provide process and quality support for the Element Manufacturing and will report in to Quality and dotted line to production. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION FOR 4 - 6 MONTHS. ***2nd shift: Monday - Friday - 2 PM to 10 PM -Assist production to segregating and disposition non-conforming product at Final Inspection -Uploading Final Inspection data into database -Apply technical troubleshooting skills to identify areas of improving processes and preventing defects -Respond to day-to-day quality issues -Participate in projects to drive defect element defect reduction, increase First Pass and Final Yields. -Maintain and update the Quality Dashboard on the production floor and provide feedback information to the process areas where the originating defect is occurring -Self-motivated, hands-on attitude and is organized -Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment -Good computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications such as MS Excel, MS Access and MS Word -Strong communication skills (verbal and written) ***MUST HAVE: experience and working knowledge of measuring devices such as calipers, tape measure, micrometers, etc. Must learn and understand written product specifications, and be able to evaluate and determine Pass/Fail based on those specifications. Careful record keeping of all measurements is required as well.
