Sourcing Operations has an outstanding opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist in Maplewood, MN.

This Senior level Strategic Sourcing Professional will set and administer strategy for assigned commodity areas within the Sourcing Engineering Services capital projects department at 3M Company.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

* Contribute to the 3M's corporate sourcing organization's cost reduction and cost avoidance goals while satisfying internal clients.
* Provide contract strategy, negotiation and contract management support to engineering project teams working on capital projects.
* Provide direction and consultation on contract management issues to project teams to ensure contracting actions are consistent with business objectives and strategies.
* Promote and enforce corporate and sourcing policies and business rules.

Primary contracting activities include:
1) work with project team to develop the appropriate contracting strategy for a given project;
2) develop and manage the RFP and supplier selection process;
3) negotiate acceptable contract terms and conditions;
4) administer the contract to include the internal approval process;
5) administer change order requests; and participate in resolving contract disputes.

Relocation is not available for this opportunity.

Qualifications

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
* Minimum 7 years contracting experience on capital projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 5 years + of full contract life cycle (includes: strategy, drafting, negotiating, contracting, etc.)
* JD or MBA is a plus
* Strong legal contracts experience
* Solid understanding of contract management principles and techniques, as well as current industry trends.
* Solid knowledge of laws and regulations governing services contracts.
* Proficient with complex contract drafting.
* Ability to identify key business and project drivers and develop appropriate contracting strategy.
* Project management experience helpful.
